The Big Draw is the UK's largest annual
free celebration of drawing with 1,000
venues and over 500,000 participants
getting back to the drawing board.
Supporters such as Quentin Blake, Posy Simmonds,
Gavin Turk, Anthony Gormley and Gerald Scarfe
were enlisted to demonstrate the power of
drawing at the live events and in the media.
A national launch took place at 200 events
across the East End, while across Britain
Big Draw events took place in venues as
diverse as community centres to space observatories
helping children and adults discover the
joy of drawing.
Kallaway secured over 1,600 individual
stories across the UK over Big Draw
month and a 20 broadcast packages.
Highlights included 33 stories in
national broadsheet and magazine titles
including a four page feature in the Guardian
on Quentin Blake and a two page drawing
feature in the Independent with Paula
Broadcast highlights included a dedicated
programme on BBC Radio 4's Go For
It - the UK's most listened to children's
Radio programme, BBC Breakfast, News24 and
Local BBC Stations across the country. A
focused London and local media Campaign
secured 74 stories on LondonTV and radio
which ensured the East End launch event
was well attended.
