The View from The Shard appoints international observation deck
specialist Anna Domingo, as new Marketing Director
The View from The Shard, the visitor attraction at the top of Western Europe’s tallest building, is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Marketing Director, Anna Domingo, whose previous roles include launching innovative marketing strategies for ‘Top of The Rock’ at the Rockefeller Centre and Empire State Building, New York.
Ms Domingo, who joins The View from The Shard after its highly successful first year, possesses unique expertise in developing consumer engagement strategies for observation decks overseas, adding experience value through innovative brand partnerships. Her strong experience in New York City is augmented by her work leading integrated marketing communications in worldwide major destinations and new landmarks in the Middle East and Europe. These include PlateaMadrid (Spain), Value Retail (Madrid, Spain), Saadiyat Island Manarat al Saadiyat Experience Centre (UAE), and most recently the Mall of Qatar, the largest shopping centre under construction in Qatar and second largest in the Middle East.
Ms Domingo takes over from Laura McCarthy, who steps down after completing a launch phase that has positioned the attraction as a must-visit destination in London and cumulated in welcoming its one millionth visitor shortly after the first anniversary of opening. Ms McCarthy leaves The View from The Shard to take on the regeneration and re-launch of Dreamland amusement park in Margate, Kent.
The View from The Shard has been nominated for various industry awards since opening in February 2013. Most recently, the attraction was awarded a 2014 Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence, named a Brand Network ‘Cool Brand’ for the second consecutive year (voted by an expert panel and members of the public) and is nominated for ‘Cultural Attraction of the Year’ with London Lifestyle Awards 2014.
