The View from The Shard Christmas Choir Competition
Throughout December, amateur London choirs will raise their voices to 800ft for the chance to perform an exclusive concert at the top of Western Europe’s tallest building. The three favourite choirs, as voted for by the public on social media, will progress to the grand final on Monday 23 December. The winner, to be decided by a panel of judges from the local community and special guests, announced on Christmas Eve, will receive the once in a lifetime chance to perform a private concert to friends and family at The View from The Shard.
From pop to chamber, alternative ukulele to Welsh male voice, London singing groups (maximum group size of 20 performers) are invited to enter on The View from The Shard Facebook page until 15 November. Choirs will then be selected and invited to compete at heats taking place on the following dates and times:
- Monday 2 December 7-9pm
- Monday 9 December 7-9pm
- Monday 16 December 7-9pm
Videos of the best song from each competing choir will be uploaded to The View from the Shard’s Facebook page for public voting, with the favourite from each heat chosen to go through to the final after six days.

Sing it from the Rooftops is part of a number of activities being undertaken by The View from The Shard this Christmas. ‘Kids Go Free’ to the attraction throughout the festive season, from 20 December to 5 January, with further activities to be announced shortly,

NOTES TO EDITORS
Competition terms and conditions:
- The choir must be an amateur choir, comprising of no more than 20 performers and 3 non performers.
- The closing date for Choir Submissions is 15th November 2013
- Successful choirs will be notified of their inclusion and performance dates by 30th November 2013
- The prize consists of 2 hours’ exclusive access to The View from The Shard, to facilitate a concert performance to the winning choir’s invited guests (up to 170 guests in total). The prize must be taken on a Monday – Wednesday, 7 – 9pm between 30 December and 31 March, subject to availability.

The View from The Shard
The View from The Shard is the new premium attraction at the top of The Shard, London’s newest landmark. The View from the Shard is the highest vantage point in Western Europe and the only place where it is possible to see all of London all at once.
